Like most of us know, flowers are a big part of the amount of money spent on weddings today. And now, with high fuel prices contributing to the overall cost of importation and transportation of flowers, a couple needs to know a few tips to get around these obstacles and still have the wedding of their dreams.
As a certified florist and wedding coordinator for almost ten years, let me offer a few suggestions for the dollar conscious bride and groom.
About Ask the florist to use locally grown, seasonal flowers wherever possible, avoiding costly import duties.
o Avoid the use of exotic and traditional higher priced flowers such as orchids, lilies, Casablanca lilies of the valley and miniature calla lilies, especially the color varieties.
O Do not choose a bouquet that includes wiring and recording (your florist will know). This will reduce labor costs.
O Keep the number of participants to a minimum. Your friends will understand, and probably secretly thank you.
On Hold ceremony decor to a minimum as much time spent on recepciji.Svadba party provides a focal point without the need for a lot of other "fluff". Transfer any ceremony arrangements at the reception.
of Eliminate corsages and boutonnieres for family members. Most of the time, they do not really care.
O instead of the head of the table with a huge, expensive floral arrangement, a Sweetheart table for bride and groom and to enable the participants to sit with my family (who usually prefer). If the head of the table must use the attendants' bouquets a wreath runner to dress him up.
If possible, pick up your flowers in a florist's, thus avoiding the increasing costs of delivery.
About Florists will usually try to "sell out". Do you really need flowers in the restrooms?
is not about planning a wedding near the holidays, especially Valentine's Day and Mother's Day.
Even if you spend just a few of these suggestions, you should be able to keep the price of your wedding flowers to a minimum. Another important tip - do not plan your wedding for someone else to do outside of the event. Make what you want, without exaggeration or spending more than you feel comfortable. Remember, marriage is far more important than the wedding.
